Lawford Church of England Primary School is located in Manningtree, Essex. After a Council-led consultation, it was agreed that the school would increase from a single-entry to a double-entry intake. This resulted in classroom and support space for an additional 120 pupils.
The creation of the building reduced the outside space available to the school. To create the best learning and recreation space both inside and outside, the design was created to maximise light, being aware of security issues and create a new MUGA. The design resulted in a two-storey block with configuration to the existing building to create a studio space. The expansion includes eight classrooms, including toilet facilities, a library, and two SEN rooms. The outside space included scooter and cycle parking, and the MUGA.
